The challenge
A single monolith was handling authorisation, settlement and reporting — and buckling under peak-hour traffic.
Our approach
We split the critical paths into independent services with idempotent processing, a durable event log and per-provider circuit breakers, then migrated traffic gradually behind feature flags.
The outcome
Peak-hour incidents stopped, and adding a new payment provider became a configuration change rather than a release.
